Mental Equivalents

Humanity--Republicans and Democrats, men and women, immigrants and citizens, Americans and the rest of the world, seeks a better—healthier, joyous, peaceful more meaningful, life. Deep down we all want a win/win—a world that works for everyone and everything. The difficulties and disagreements arise because some of us believe such a world is possible and want to work to achieve it, while others do not believe such a world is possible, think we should just accept things as they are – ‘the poor you shall have always’, and quit kidding ourselves and fucking around. It is spirit in human nature that seeks improvement and the ego in it that denies improvement and better is even possible.

 

‘The Kingdom of God is within you,’ means to me that the ‘Kingdom’-- the world that works for everyone and everything, is not far off, uncertain or impossible, but present within all of us—Republican and Democrat, right now.  It means when we realize our reality as spiritual beings having an earthly experience and seek the ‘Kingdom’ first, that all else—wisdom, insight, jobs, peace and a world that works for everyone and everything, will be added. The good news is that the ‘Kingdom of God is at hand.’

 

To me, this is not just an idea, it is reality. In my experience, to the extent I am able to give things over to spirit, to let go and let God, then grace enfolds me and the wisdom, insight, respite and peace I need are available. To the extent I am able…. If I hold on to a part of it--a belief, attitude, desire, and do not give it over, then the grace is less. The more I give over, the more grace. The more I hold onto, the less grace.

 

There is a mental, emotional, spiritual equivalent, that enables me (and you) to partake of the energy we call ‘God,’ that works like a jello mold.

 

If I’m using a mold that opens me to receiving a great deal of this energy and get my bloated nothingness – my ego - out of the way, then I receive a great deal of this energy. The kind of mold I choose to use, determines the form the energy takes and my experience of it.

 

Choose the mold of anger, fear, no, and limitation then that’s what you receive.  Choose the mold of love, peace, fearlessness and innovation then that’s what you receive. Which mold are you choosing to use? Just look at your experience. It is possible to shift and choose to use a different mold, one that allows you to make a joyous contribution to a world that works for everyone and everything.
